An Explanation of the Galleries - Dan Vander-Ark

Black and White Fine Art Photography...after picking through about 25,000 photos, these are my favorites for this gallery.

Grandma's Attic...for years my wife and I have been collecting antiques and vintage items and this gallery is simply a collection of photographs of the treasures we have at home and have seen in antique and junk shops throughout the northland.

Special Event! Admit One!...galleries of the Tall Ships festival, of Grandma's Marathon, of the Kia Drag Races, and other wonderful events that have appeared in the Duluth/Superior area.

The Leaning Goose (and other Fine Feathered Flying Friends)...a collection some of the photos I have taken over the years of everything from geese to loons to herons to eagles.

A River Runs Through It...a collection of photos from kayaking on the St. Louis, the Cloquet, the Elk and other rivers in the northland.

The Big Lake They Call "Gitche Gumee"...photos of and around the greatest of the Great Lakes.

Let's Play Baseball!...a myriad of photos of Burnett Tball, PeeWee and Little League baseball.

Paddling With Dragonflies...scenes from kayaking on a multitude of lakes in northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.

The General Store...a potpourri of photos that we love but couldn't find a home for.  The gallery is laid out just as a general store would be ("Excuse me, where are the pictures of old trucks?"  "Oh those are over in aisle 7 next to the home-made maple syrup.")

Humans!...a few pictures of wonderful people we have encountered over the years.

The Fam...pictures of what else...us!
